Job Summary
The Retail Manager will direct and supervise the team and day-to-day operations in the retail department, ensuring consistent quality service in the retail environment, and realizing the profitability potential of the business by developing and maintaining a base of satisfied clients.
Responsibilities
- Manages the hiring of new retail team members.
- Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day workflow of the retail team
- Conducts or assists with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, providing recommendations for promotion and salary adjustment as appropriate.
- Conducts employment actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Manages the departmental performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase sales.
- Conducts regular staff meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated with the retail department; provides guidance and leadership to enable the team to meet these goals and objectives.
- Identifies training needs and opportunities; develops and implements a plan for meeting those needs.
- Promotes and assists with large ticket sales, including pool equipment and HotSpring Spas.
- Maintains and develops positive relationships with existing and prospective clients, demonstrating excellent customer service and setting an example for other team members.
- Assists in monitoring the daily and monthly sales achievements as compared to budgeted goals and past history to meet/exceed expectations
- Promote Poolwerx home services
- Inventory management activities
- Provide accurate technical and sales services, including water testing and chemical equipment solutions.
- Implement the local area marketing, sales and promotional programs including telemarketing lapsed clients
- Maintain Poolwerx operating standards and systems, including merchandise displays, and adhere to OSHA policies & procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years college with emphasis in business, marketing and management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent sales skills
- Excellent organizational, financial, time management, and marketing skills, with attention to detail, and the abilit to multi-task.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs, ability to read and understand basic financial statements.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding of varying situations and carry out instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in non-standard situations.
- Ability to function well in a seasonal, at times high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and smart phone
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, ability to speak effectively before individuals and small groups of customers or employees.
- Experience with pool and spa products, preferred.
- Some hot tub sales experience beneficial.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Self motivated, goal oriented.
